Boreal Owl

This Boreal Owl was found in Fargo's Orchard Glen Park on April 3rd, 2022. It was sitting in the same tree and on the same branch that a Northern Saw-whet Owl had been using a few months earlier.

King Eider, a ND 1st State Record found by Ron Martin on Thanksgiving Day. I luckily had a three hour window to find and observe the bird before hosting family. Bird was still around the weekend.
Bird was also observed chasing a White-winged Scoter.

A Worm-eating Warbler was located on the streets of Bismarck by Dale Heinert. Bird was present for two days and delighted many. Roughly the states 15th record.

Thick-billed Kingbird

Hawking near Missouri River by small wet area from Cottonwood and Russian Olive trees. Seen about 3:30 to 4:00 this day and by others the next day at about same time. Found by Bill Peterson of Center and Dale Heinert of Bismarck. Cross Ranch Nature Conservancy Oliver County about 1 mile north of State Park off trail.
